New Krone mowers “EasyCut B 1250 Fold”: they fold and spin

With over 12 meters of working width, foldable to under three meters for transport, the new Krone mowers “EasyCut B 1250 Fold” expand Krone’s range of forage solutions to be combined with the front-mounted “EasyCut F 320” and “EasyCut F 360” models

Particularly in the forage sector, there is growing support for controlled traffic farming techniques, known as “CTF”. In addition to providing precise guidance during operations, these solutions enhance cutting quality and soil preservation. At the same time, the equipment used helps minimize downtime by facilitating movement between fields. This feature is also a key characteristic of Krone’s new “EasyCut B 1250 Fold” mowers—rear-mounted implements controlled via ISOBUS protocols, capable of reaching working widths of up to 12.5 meters when combined with the front mowers “EasyCut F 320” and “EasyCut F 360”, which offer working widths of 3.16 meters and 3.60 meters respectively.

The exclusive “Fold” mechanism

Once field operations are completed, the entire mowing setup can be quickly compacted to within the three-meter limit required by road regulations, thanks to the exclusive “Fold” mechanism, a patented Krone system.

This hydraulically folds the rear mowing units inward until they fit within the tractor’s profile, ensuring compliance with height limits as well, which are set at four meters.

In operation, the outermost cutting disc of each unit is folded backward and upward by a hydraulic gearbox that controls its movement. This system not only speeds up folding and unfolding in the field, but also positions the mass close to the tractor, optimizing the center of gravity and reducing bouncing and pitching.

The new “EasyCut B 1250 Fold” mowers have an unladen weight of just over 3,500 kilograms and are designed for tractors starting at 200 horsepower. Their rational positioning during road transport therefore significantly enhances driving stability.

Once in the field, the machines deliver all the technical advantages of the “EasyCut” cutter bars, which are fully welded and lifetime-lubricated for minimal maintenance. Cutting is always clean and safe thanks to eight central discs and two lateral mowing drums, whose operation is supported by the standard “SafeCut” and “SmartCut” systems. The former protects individual cutting discs, while the latter optimizes cutting by preventing uncut strips through optimal blade overlap.

This is further supported by the ability to vary the working width between 11.30 meters and 12.5 meters via a hydraulically operated sliding transmission that allows lateral adjustment of both units.

Each unit can shift outward by up to 60 centimeters, independently adjustable from the driver’s seat, enabling the operator to set optimal cutting overlaps according to specific field conditions.

Now in their fourth generation, the “EasyCut F 320” and “EasyCut F 360” models from Krone offer maximum adaptability to specific operational needs thanks to their modular design and three mounting variants: “Push”, “Pull”, and “Plus”. The “Push” version performs best on particularly uneven terrain thanks to its compact, lightweight structure mounted close to the tractor. The “Pull” version, efficient and versatile, is better suited to flat surfaces and can operate at high speeds with various tractor models.

Finally, the “Plus” version—exclusive to the fourth generation of the “EasyCut F 320”—is primarily designed for daily operations on fresh forage, ensuring agile and precise handling even on sloping terrain when used with a Weiste-type adapter.
